about

The air is cold and wet. You feel the sharp edges of torn metal graze the skin on your back as you use your hands to navigate through a claustrophobic opening in the grimy concrete. Ahead of you, you see nothing. There is no room for light here, 600 feet underground. The distance behind you grows as you inch towards the unknown. The only thing guiding you is the smell of diesel and the continually swelling pain of the scrapes on your body as you push forward.
As you shuffle deeper into the dark, you begin to feel more metal than concrete. More machine than human. The hot air from your coughs freeze in the air as you begin to breathe in more noxious fumes than oxygen. More flesh than blood.
The sound of gears grinding bleeds through the walls. Unimaginable metal contraptions groan as your limbs shrink between the rust and metal. Unable to move, you give your body to the feeling. You give your mind to the sound. Time warps around you as you feel your limbs curl and contract. A sonic ice pick wedges itself into your consciousness, the pain as real as the wet sludge seeping between your bare feet.
Finally, you give in to this Dread Occasion.

Dread Occasion is a collaborative live hardware project between Sprit and PRYVYD. ETA45 is proud to present almost an hour of unrelenting hardware techno. Recorded live in Provo UT.
